The Writer
I am many things, but a professional writer, by experience or education, is not one of them. I am a beginner; it’s humbling, and I’m loving the journey.
My career spans from creating events and strategic partnerships between luxury houses and the world of extreme sports to designing and managing enterprise executive engagement and thought leadership agendas. When I became serious about writing this book, I realized I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel; I just needed assistance from experts with talents different from my own. It takes a team, and I’m always learning and listening to advice while balancing it with trusting my own inner wisdom and intuition.
It’s true, I lived Seven Blank Pages, but now it’s my job to give the story a life and a voice of its own, so that it can impact and connect with others, however that is meant to be. As I move through the creative, technical, and publishing processes of authoring a book, I realize again the importance of trusting the timing of things. I wouldn’t be able to write this without the perspective time has given me. And I know, beyond any doubt, the time is now. The alignment is undeniable, and it’s exciting.
Writing a nonfiction narrative is both lonely and liberating, as every time you revisit an emotional fingerprint on the heart, it reopens the memory, unavoidably yielding fresh insights. My promise to you, the reader, is this: I am RAW—a real American woman, born and raised in Wisconsin, moved to Colorado, worked around NYC, traveled the world, lived abroad. I’m a Capricorn on a 336 life path and a challenger (8) by nature—writing about real life.
The story is not perfect, but it isn’t meant to be. I’m writing this book, one paragraph at a time—while also raising young children and building a life with my husband in Austin, TX—because if you can relate to any part of it, from the physical journey, or the financial, sexual, spiritual, or professional evolutions to reclaiming your true identity after being catapulted into change, it’s powerful to know someone out there is clapping for you, even energetically. Because I am. I applaud anyone with the courage to show up for their life. I salute anyone willing to seek out individual meaning from the prescribed truths, learn their own heart, and most importantly, remember their own magic. I encourage you to take the risk, bet on yourself, and keep going.
